NUEL has created Regional Networks to bring Extension professionals working in urban settings together regionally and nationally to share, collaborate and participate in urban focused professional development. There are five NUEL regional networks:
- 1890
- Northeast
- North Central
- South
- West
Each regional network meets on a regular basis, often online, and most organize in-person conferences or meetings focused on professional development and networking bi-annually. The current chairs of the Regional Networks are indicated in the list of NUEL Steering Committee members (link it back to the steering committee list).
Regional Network Chairs
- Communicate with Extension professionals working in urban settings across their region and encourage their participation in the regional network
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate quarterly (at minimum) regional network meetings
- Coordinate bi-annual regional network conferences/meetings in years the National Urban Extension Conference in not held
- Connect with the state/university Urban Extension Coordinator/Contacts from their region and engage them in regional and national NUEL work
- Connect regional activities with national NUEL efforts and promote engagement in national NUEL efforts
- Provide leadership for awards given by the Regional Network and work with the NUEL National Urban Extension Conference Action Team around the national NUEL urban awards
- Support the National Urban Extension Conference Planning Committee when the conference is being held in their region
